Rev. Lucinda S. Holmes joins Crossroad United Methodist Church in Lansing on July 8. She grew up in nearby Independence, Missouri, graduated college from United Methodist Oklahoma City University, and receiving her Masters of Theology at Southern Methodist University. Rev. Holmes has more than 25 years of pastoral ministry in churches large and small, rural and suburban in both Oklahoma and Kansas. She has wide-ranging ministry experiences that include serving as the District Superintendent of the Woodward district in Oklahoma and Senior Pastor of a multi-staff church at First Church in Enid, Oklahoma, home of Vance Air Force base. Rev. Holmes served on the Executive Staff of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, which is the largest church in our denomination. There she served as head of worship ministries and ministerial development. Rev Holmes comes to us directly from serving as the lead pastor at the Shawnee United Methodist Church, Shawnee, Kansas. Rev. Holmes loves the message on the church sign that says, "Crossroads United Methodist Church where faith and life meet." She has stated, "What I take from this sign is that we are about bringing hope to folks no matter where their life has turned and taken them." Lucinda is married to Cliff Meek, originally from Bartlesville Oklahoma, who works as a network specialist in Kansas City.
