Youth Confirmation at

Lake Shore United Methodist Church

Sunday, 6:30 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Youth Confirmation is offered to preteens and young teens at Lake Shore United Methodist Church. Confirmation is an opportunity for those who participate “to learn about and reflect on the basic beliefs of Christianity, to learn about the beliefs and policies specific to The United Methodist Church, and to make a decision for professing faith in Jesus Christ.” (Norton p.23) We are using a curriculum entitled “Claim The Name” which will enable our youth to experience God and to help youth make commitments to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

Youth Confirmation is a partnership between the Confirmand and the Congregation. Mature Christians from Lake Shore serve as mentors while the people of Lake Shore hold the Confirmands and the Mentors in their daily prayers.

Confirmation is a 20-week ministry lead by Rev. Nancy that will include intense learning and reflection, mission projects, exposure to other faith communities, and service to the church. The Confirmation experience will culminate at a retreat with other youth from our compass group on the North Coast District.

Attendance... To offer the most information possible to each student as they consider their confirmation. Attendance and participation is requested for both confirmation and Sunday school.

Registration... The opportunity for registration begins in the month of September. Classes will begin on September 23^rd @6:30-8:00pm at Lake Shore United Methodist Church under the direction of Rev. Nancy Manner.
