Church Conference
On Nov. 12 at 7:00 PM, all church members are invited to
the annual Church Conference. All
members have voice and vote. We will be
receiving reports, electing officers, and setting
goals for the coming year. Our district
superintendent, John Blackadar, will be leading us. In preparation, all committee chairs and retired pastors
should send their reports to the church office by
November 5th.
Glad Tidings Christmas Fair
Nov. 14,
2009
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Please check the crew sign-up
sheets in the Fellowship Hall. This
30-year plus tradition needs your help to carry on. Call Jane Reep (293-8157 or 520-0993) with
questions. Thank you.
For congregation courtesy, pre-
and post sales will be held today and the Sunday after the fair, Sunday,
November 15, 2009. Select items will be available in the
Fellowship Hall. Come preview, purchase
or just enjoy the talented, industrious and ingenious work done here in our church family. Questions?
Call Jane Reep at 293-8157.
Transformed Living Points Challenge
Each week until Sunday, Nov. 22, we are keeping track of our learning and service
in God's church. Points are being recorded on the green tally sheets found in
your bulletin and/or sent to your home. This is a completely optional
activity, but a fun way to under-stand how we use our time and
talents for the church. The hope is, that our lives will be enriched
by our quest for faith and our commitment to service. You can keep track
of the results of this survey by checking the decorated bulletin board in the
Fellowship Hall. Also, you'll find
there a list of suggested service activities (each worth 5 points). Please bring your tally sheets each Sunday and drop them in the containers provided. And remember, your service is appreciated,
whether participating in the activity or not. Dick
Walden and Donna Fowlie--team leaders.
Reminder
If you have votive candles
that you did not pick up after church last week, please pick them up in the
church office.
The worship
services and concerts are being recorded for broadcast on LRPA-TV. If you do not wish to be filmed, please stop
by the media desk so they can direct you to a secure
seat. Broadcast times are Sundays at
5:00 AM and 6:30 PM.
Dessert with the Carter Mountain
Brass Band
Saturday, December 5 – 7:00 PM
Carter Mountain Brass Band will present a Christmas
Concert, and dessert will be served during intermission.
Tickets will be sold ahead for $ 10.00 donation.
This is often a standing room only crowd, so be sure to get
your tickets! (There will be extras at the door.)
Where Are They?
Locations are needed for the following members of our congregation. If you know where they are, please give the
complete address to Joyce in the office.
Thank you.

Flowers Needed
Please sign up to give flowers by
signing up on the flower chart on the bulletin board in the Fellowship
Hall. Complete one of the small slips
located by the flower chart, and leave it in Joyce’s mailbox outside the office
door. Order your flowers for delivery,
or bring them prior to the start of worship. And thank you!
Devotional Booklet for Advent/Christmas
We have very few people who have contributed a devotional
reading for the Advent/Christmas Devotional, and the deadline is fast
approaching - November 13th.
The devotions should be something that brings us back to
the meaning of what Christmas really is.
We will need devotions for days before Christmas, and 12 more for the 12
days of Christmas.
If we do not get enough devotions submitted by the
deadline, we will have to cancel the plans for the
devotional. It’s up to you.
