The United Methodist Church is a discipleship church. We believe that to truly experience God one must serve. We encourage

all members to be disciples of Christ through ministry.

A SPECIAL INVITATION FROM MRS. LINDA SMITH
ON DIAPER DRIVES

It’s a really good mission project for us!!

Child & Family Resources is a private, non-profit organization that creates and delivers programs and services for the community that support the development of children, and strengthen families. National businesses and organizations recognize our capacity to develop, implement, and manage pilot initiatives for later expansion, both regionally and nationally.

Currently, we are seeking help, in the form of diaper drives, from Churches, Synagogues and Mosques, as well as other organizations in the community. I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to help you and your congregation plan a diaper drive.

If you’re interested in helping us obtain the much needed resources of diapers and would like more information or would like to plan a drive, you may contact me, Linda Smith. (CALL CHURCH OFFICE FOR LINDA'S CONTACT INFORMATION OR SEE CHURCH DIRECTORY)

  H.O.P.E. (Helping Out People Everywhere)

H.O.P.E. will be running each mission for 3 months instead of 1. We will still meet monthly on the 1st Sunday of the month, after our second service. Our mission as a church, to be God's Helping hands, June-Aug is to collect items for our brave soldiers, who put their lives at risk to protect us and our country. There is a box in the Gathering Place. There is also a cash or check donation jar on top of the file cabinet to help with mailing expenses, or for those who do not have time to shop. A list of items needed is included at the end of this newsletter and is also available on top of the file cabinet. Please share this list with family or friends who may want to help us make this mission a success. If we can all bring an item or two weekly, hopefully we can make our soldiers’ lives a little easier. We also want to send thank you cards and letters. Have your kids draw some pictures for them. Please leave the cards and letters unsealed. If you have any questions please call or email

Reiki Rei (ray) = Universal Kei (key) = Life Energy

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is administered by "laying on of hands" and is primarily perceived as a practice for healing the body, but it is also a method for healing the mind and spirit. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful technique that can be easily learned by anyone.

Reiki is a healing system that is a safe, natural and holistic ways of treating many acute and chronic conditions. The Reiki practitioner channels energy or "ki" through their hands into the recipient. This energy activates the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki is
suitable for everyone, including the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those recovering from surgery.

New Ministry: Fun, Food & Fellowship

Many member of the church have expressed their desire to have more meaningful and enjoyable fellowship opportunities in the church. After some discussion among  leaders and embers  of the church we have come up with a new "Fun, Food & FelIowship" Ministry Team.

Its primary function is to coordinate throughout the year to promote and coordinate events and activities that can generate a greater sense of "community" among all members - through fun, food and fellowship.

Our own Telly Franklin is the team leader for this vital new ministry. With her gift of organization and teamwork, she is putting together a core ministry team.  If you are interested in working on this ministry contact Telly.
