From the Wesley Nurse
I
hope you are all happy, healthy and planning a wonderful Thanksgiving with
family and friends.
This
is such a wonderful time of year and we can finally be outside without melting!
On the evening of November 5th from 6 to 8 pm in the fellowship hall, I
will have a nutrition program entitled Living Bread. We
will be grinding wheat and baking some very nutritious bread just like we did
last year. All who attended this
program last year were pleasantly inspired.
All are welcome and please call to reserve a spot so we know how much to
prepare
There
will be having another Community Garden work day on Saturday November 7th from 8
am to 12 pm, working from 8 to 10 in the garden and then having a pumpkin pie
baking contest in the fellowship hall. Our
pumpkin patch did provide several prize pumpkins this year, but maybe not enough
for the program, so I am asking participants to bring their already baked
pumpkin for the project.
Ongoing
programs are:
Walking at Thousand Trails Park Mondays & Wednesdays 8 - 9am
Yoga/Pilates Exercise Program Tuesdays & Thursdays in the Wesley
Nurse’s Office 8 - 9am
Blood Pressure Screenings every Tuesday at the Civic Center 11 am - 1 pm
Prayer Shawl Ministry
I
am reviving the Prayer Shawl Ministry since this is a good time of year to knit
and crochet. We will begin meeting
at the Civic Center on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1 pm-3 pm.
Please call for more
information
on this valuable ministry that reaches out to those who are in need of special
comfort.
I
will be out of the office the week of Thanksgiving, as I am traveling to
Oklahoma to spend the holiday with family.
Blessings
for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving,

reap, but by the seeds that you plant”
