Thank You!

We took the plunge!  We made a splash with Jesus!  We were cool - in the SON!  Vacation Bible School 2007 was a great success.  We listened as our emcee and JP the Penguin taught us a special word each day that helps us live as God wants us to.  We watched story tellers teach from a stage area that Broadway actors would be jealous of.  We made sand crosses, sand bracelets, Frisbees, picture frames, visors (we used glue and permanent markers and made sane adults wince and hold their breath).  We had amazing snacks: Oreo penguins, flip-flop cookies, fish in nets.  We had recreation, outside luckily, because water was a key ingredient in the best-ever games.  We sang...oh, did we sing!  Wonderful, beautiful songs that made us dance.  We had our pictures taken, because this was a week we want to remember.

We had 104 kids registered this year and over 50 adult and youth helpers.  It was a wonderful week where both the kids and the adults had fun.  The entire staff was a blessing to work with.  God has blessed this church with volunteers who have heard God’s directive to spread His Word, and then they do it!  This community has been blessed with children.  God’s little children who need to learn about God and be shown what living in His love really means.  Those VBS volunteers smiled and laughed and hugged and personified God’s love in an amazing way with 104 children.

Words cannot really express the appreciation I have for all the workers in this VBS.  I cannot list by name all of the people who helped with VBS this year.  However, I also know these people don’t care about that.  They know that Vacation Bible School is for the kids and to the glory of God.  Please know that you are all in my prayers and my heart as very special people who put God’s little children before personal plans, preferences, and routines.  Thank you for changing your schedules and lives for a week.  With God’s help we may have changed some children’s lives for a lot more than a week.
