UMM Prayer Online Requests
Too many, prayer is something that is not special but to others they depend on
their lives to be happy and successful due to prayer. Prayer not only for
themselves but for others
What is your perception of prayer? No matter what it is, there is one true
element - prayer is talking with God. Chuck Swindoll of Insight for Living gives
four reasons why prayer is important:
1. Prayer refocuses our perspective. Without prayer, we see only the visible;
with prayer, God shows us the hidden dimensions of life.
2. It quiets our fears and calms our nerves. We may come to prayer fearful and
anxious, but when we give our worries to the Lord, we come away calmed and
assured.
3. Prayer transfers our burdens. It takes the big load we’ve been carrying and
shifts it to the shoulders that can handle the weight.
4. Prayer upholds others who are in need. It is the way we help bear one
another's burdens and lift them to the One who knows best.
So why are these four reasons mentioned? The KY Conference UMM, under the
excellent direction of our Prayer Advocate, Paul Herron III, has established an
online prayer request line to allow anyone to submit a prayer request or to be
added to a list of individuals that will be praying for others. Since we
instituted the prayer request line, the needs of many have been expressed. Many
have experienced medical conditions, the loss of a loved one including those in
our church family losing a son/daughter in the Iraq War, for families of
prisoners, Hurricane Katrina victims and to the helpers along with many praises.
Would you like to become a prayer warrior along with many other men and women or
want to submit a prayer request? If so, go online to http://www.gbgm-umc.org/kyumm/prayer.htm
or send an email to kyconfumm@yahoo.com. Please join us in helping others.
