OPENING HYMN     'Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee'     UMH No. 89

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Lord, we affirm you as the God whose love and mercy are unfailing. When we have spent all our strength and all our resources, we find that if we turn to you, you take the little we have and transform it into abundance. When we confess our poverty, you reveal that we are rich, inheritors of a vast treasure of love. As a poor widow was willing to spend all that she had, increase in us the love which does not count the cost, but spends it freely. Remind us that in Christ Jesus you give us a treasure beyond price. Amen.
