"Do no harm; do good; stay in love with God."

NOVEMBER BOOK STUDY
For the month of November, student pastor Wendy Mohler will be leading us in a study of our spiritual gifts, using Parker Palmer's book, A Hidden Wholeness, as a conversation guide. Participants do not need to own the book. Everyone is welcome. We will meet after the service (approx. 11:20 a.m.) in Anderson House, behind the church.

RECIPE BOOK AVAILABLE
The first edition of the Kingston United Methodist Church Recipe Book is now available. A collection of favorite recipes from our potluck luncheons and dinners, the book also includes a variety of table graces. A suggested donation of $8 will go directly to the ministry of the church. Books will be available in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday, or may be ordered through the mail. Please make your check payable to the church.

LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE
Rev. Cady offers some thoughts as we look toward the new church activity year. "There is an excitement which comes from working together to carry out a vision which was jointly cast, but we must first acknowledge that things won't always go as planned. Once we have accepted the uncertainty of the journey ahead, we can find a way to actually enjoy it. We may not know exactly what the road ahead looks like, but we know that God will be with us on the journey. And, as we remember each Sunday, though we don't know what a day may bring, we know that the hour for serving God is now." To read his entire message, see From the Pastor.

CHOIR PRACTICE -- Music Director Natalie Gibson leads the choir in rehearsal at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Everyone is welcome.

SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES -- Beginning on Sunday, Sept. 20, school-aged children (kindergarten and up) are invited to leave the sanctuary after a short message from Rev. Cady to share a special time of Bible study and crafts in Anderson House. On the first Sunday of each month, children will remain in the sanctuary for Holy Communion. Nursery care is available off the Fellowship Hall for infants and toddlers.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Sunday, November 1, after the service - A four-week study of our spiritual gifts using Parker Palmer's A Hidden Wholeness. Wendy Mohler, student pastor, will lead.

SERVING THE LORD FOR 130 YEARS
Kingston United Methodist Church celebrated its 130th anniversary on January 30. The building was dedicated on that day in 1879. We celebrated this milestone on Sunday, February 1, with a potluck luncheon following the service. Our goal for the coming year is to invite 130 new people to worship with us, one for every year we've been serving the Lord.

REGULAR SUNDAY SERVICES Join us at 10:00 a.m. for Sunday worship. Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers. A time of fellowship and refreshments follows the service.

Our Mission

We are an open, caring community of faith, brought together by the Grace of God, committed to creating an environment of growth and healing through the example of Jesus Christ.

We believe in holding hands, in singing, dancing, laughing, crying together; in feeding the hungry in body and in spirit, in healing, in the Grace of God, in Jesus and His teachings; in the power of prayer; in small, everyday miracles; in the wonder of children; in the story of the butterfly.

ButterflyThe Butterfly is a symbol for this church community of a new day dawning and the happiness that goes with a new life in Christ. Come and join us in worshipping the Lord. May that new life-changing source of God's peace dwell with you!
