Luke 10:27's word's to live by say, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

The words for the week of VBS were

HELP, SHARE, INVITE, GIVE, & TELL.

God helped us understand what it is to help the one that two have already passed by and left half-dead on the road.  Our journey on the trolley took us, not to the beach like Z (the zebra) wanted, but again along the Jericho Road.
(Luke 10:25-37).

We learned the meaning of sharing as the story of Ruth was told--along the road from Bethlehem to Moab--and how Ruth shared what she had.  Ruth shared the rest of her life with her mother-in-law, the widow Naomi.
(Ruth 1 & 2).

Jesus, who was invited to walk along the road to Emmaus with two sad disciples, invited them to know him in the breaking of bread. (Luke 24:13-35).

God spoke a word to the prophet Elijah who shared it with the king. Elijah ran from the angry  king, and while he was on his journey, God provided through one who gave her last morsel
(1 Kings 17:8-16).

An angel, a messenger from God, led Philip to go to Gaza.  When he arrived, the angel told him to go to an Ethiopian who was taking a break from his service to the queen by reading in his chariot. He didn't know what he was reading.  Philip ran over to him to tell him the Good News about Jesus! (Acts 8:26-39).
