During summer and fall we are invited to participate in the Society
of St. Andrew’s Gleaning Network. Volunteers go to local orchards
and farms to pick fruit and vegetables that would otherwise not be used.
The food is taken to Lord Fairfax Food Bank for distribution.

United Methodist Men (UMM)
The United Methodist Men is an organization of the United Methodist Church comprised of men who are committed to Jesus Christ and His works. We strive for a closer relationship with Him so that we may reflect His purpose in our lives. To be a member of the UMM, you do not have to be a member of the Methodist church, but must only possess a desire to help others and grow in the Christian faith. We meet every third Sunday of the month at 7:45 am for breakfast and fellowship. We organize and plan our fund-raisers, primarily the Ham/Oyster dinners. The proceeds provide support for some of our church's needs as well as helping to support the Heart Havens Project. Mike Michael is the UM Men's President. We welcome all newcomers.
First Sunday Mission Opportunities
There is a grocery cart located in the narthex waiting to be filled with
groceries for C-CAP.
The Kernstown UMC Hope Fund is a vital mission ministry that supports the
local agencies and church members.
Monetary donations may be left on the altar as you come for communion.
Please bring your gifts the 1st Sunday of the month. Thank you!
Send and Serve Team
Ideas for helping others are discussed by the Send and Serve team and plans are made that help our church become a vehicle for compassion and justice in the world. The team leaders are Phyllis Baker and Debbie Martin.
