Clergy and Choir Robes Sent to Poland
The Poland Connection Task Force of the Kansas East Conference has been developing ways of strengthening the covenant relationship with the Methodist Church of Poland. The first project has been collecting clergy and choir robes to be sent there.
Robes were received at the June session of Annual Conference and at St. Marks UMC. The Task group sorted, packed and shipped 36 boxes containing 25 clergy robes and 370 choir robes with stoles. Edward Puleski, the general superintendent of the Methodist Church in Poland, greatly appreciates the sharing of these robes. He states that often the clergy do not have robes and choirs certainly do not. Thank you to all of the churches and pastors who shared and donated robes for this project.
Another project the task group is doing is to adapt videos that have been produced by United Methodist Communications to tell the story of Methodism. The Polish Church is in need of promotional materials for evangelism purposes.
A VIM team from the Stilwell UMC went to Poland in June. there are other VIM team plans being developed for 2001.
The Task Group thanks you for the support given in the collection of clergy and choir robes. Please keep the Methodist Church of Poland in your prayers as another way of strengthening the covenant relationship.
