JWUMC History
John Wesley UMC was chartered in 1970 and dedicated its first building in 1972. That facility provided a large multipurpose room used for worship, classrooms and offices. The facility was enlarged in 1992 with the addition of a dedicated sanctuary and additional classrooms and offices. We are again expanding our building with the construction of a new multi-purpose facility. We began raising funds in 2003, broke ground in April 2005, and will consecrate the new addition in February 2007. Visit our Building Committee page for more information as we continue Building the Vision of God's Future at John Wesley UMC.
The typical attendance at each of the three Sunday morning worship services is 75 to 150 persons. A nursery is provided for children up to two-years of age during all three worship services. Children's activities are provided for children through the fifth grade during the Sunday morning worship services. The children's activities are different during each hour of worship. This allows parents to attend both a worship service and an adult Sunday school while their children participate in different, but coordinated, programs.
