Welcome Pastor Mark Putman!

mark pPlease join us in worship on Sunday, July 6th as we welcome Pastor Mark Putman and his family to John Wesley.

Pastor Mark comes to JW after serving as Associate Pastor at Faith Community UMC in Xenia, Ohio. Both Mark and his wife Marge graduated from Finneytown High School. His home church is Forest Chapel where his parents still attend. He went to Indiana University and majored in business, where upon he worked in retail and banking before God called him to leading churches as a pastor. Marge consults with seniors who are downsizing their possessions and homes. They have three daughters, the oldest a teacher in the Cincinnati area, the second a sophomore in Business at Wright State, and the youngest a freshman in high school.

John Wesley Early Learning Center

jwelcJohn Wesley Nursery School is now the John Wesley Early Learning Center.

Recently John Wesley Early Learning Center was named a Step Up To Quality Program by the State of Ohio. Only the top preschool and child care programs in Ohio receive this prestigious award.

John Wesley ELC received this award because of their overall commitment to quality and excellent early care and education program. They offer a wonderful environment for children to grow and develop, and it is an honor to receive state recognition for their efforts. Among the special quality features that helped them win this award are the following:

• More teachers per child – this allows a teacher to spend more time with each child.
• More qualified teachers – more training in early childhood development.
• A commitment to early learning and Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards.
• An outstanding work environment – paid staff benefits mean staff is treated professionally, which goes a long way in retaining good teachers for the children.

Our goal is to build each child’s self-confidence, develop their social and emotional skills and instill a love for learning that will follow them the rest of their life. John Wesley ELC is extremely pleased to have won this award. We tell our children to reach for the stars. Today we feel like they are in our grasp. Click here to learn more...

Women's study this fallAlmost a year has passed since a group of women studied together on Thursday evenings – and did I mention eat some yummy snacks and desserts and drink some tasty coffee – and did I mention share some awesome insights about God’s word and how it applies to our lives today? Anyway, several of us would like to get together again and do another Beth Moore study this fall. We’re going to study her series Believing God which is a 10 week study based on heroes of the bible in Hebrews. Please contact Martha Snider (791-1728, msnider1@cinci.rr.com) or Marilyn Shultz (738-3109, shultzmk@aol.com) if you have questions and/or that you’d be interested so that we can order materials and have them ready for our first class which will be in early September, again on a Thursday night from 6:30 – 8:45 p.m.

Come to the movies! All are invited to join the Bible Adventurers Sunday School Class on Sunday, June 15th when they will begin their “Summer 2008 Movie” sessions.
