The
mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ....
From "The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church" 2000
Our process for making disciples may be described as our "primary task." Our
primary task as a congregation is to:
-
Discover and invite persons
-
Help them relate to God through Jesus
Christ
-
Nurture them in faith and discipleship
-
Send them out to make a difference for
Christ in their communities and around the world.
Our primary task may be summarized in four
action verbs: invite, relate, grow, go. Although these are four different
elements, they become one continuous cycle.

A healthy church is a church where there is a balance among all parts of the
primary task.
