(from the Upper Room

Ministries to Adults & Seniors

Sunday School for adults of all ages at 9:30 AM.

  • We offer Sunday School/Christian Education courses to people of all ages. We have a specific Adult class to serve the spiritual needs of adults who are looking to know more about God in a small group setting.

Bible Study & Breakfast every 2nd & 4th Sunday at 8 AM.

  • We offer this monthly Bible Study opportunity as a time of intergenerational learning and fellowship. This ministry is sponsored by the Men of John Wesley UMC. A Free breakfast is provided.

Bible Study—Wednesday Afternoons, 2:30 PM

  • Our Bible Study classes are seasonal, usually running from 4 to 10 weeks, depending on the subject or topic. Please call to check on times and days for Bible studies.

Chancel Choir—Wednesday Evenings, 7 PM

  • Our Chancel Choir sings a range of music including anthems, hymns, spirituals and gospel. They minister in our worship services each week. Currently, the Choir also rehearses on select Sundays to prepare for the Easter Concert on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009.

Men’s Fellowship—(United Methodist Men) 2nd Sunday of each month after worship.

  • The men of our church meet after worship on the Second Sunday of each month for fellowship and ministry.

Women’s Fellowship—(United Methodist Women) 2nd Saturday of each month at 12:30 PM

  • The women of our church gather on the Second Saturday of each month for prayer, to study the Bible, work on ministries of social justice and mission and to minister to children, youth and women.

Senior & Disabled Health & Wellness Program— Wednesdays & Fridays, 10 AM to 2 PM.

  • This program is offered FREE OF CHARGE to any & all seniors and disabled persons in the community. The program will include Sit & Fit Exercise sessions, Arts & Crafts, Computer classes, Health, Nutrition & Self-Awareness Presentations and referrals for services. Partially funded by the NYC Department for the Aging. The program is open to seniors and disabled persons of any age.

Sewing Classes—2nd Saturdays, 1 PM.

  • This class is offered to people of all ages for fellowship and development of an excellent skill. Classes are open to the community.
