The purpose of the UMW is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a Creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The four circles under the UMW umbrella seek to envision this purpose in a number of ways. They provide funding for agencies such as Fair Haven and Good Samaritan Center, nursing homes, and missionary families; they plan events for special occasions: Valentine Young at Heart Banquet, Holy Week Service luncheons, UMW Sunday, Student Recognition Sunday, and Senior Graduation Recognition. The largest undertaking occurs every other year with our church bazaar, bringing in funds for many projects. In addition UMW forms a crisis committee to prepare food for bereaved families, and many study courses appear throughout the year under the able leadership of UMW members.
