Director of Music
Laneah was born in Dublin, GA. She grew up as an "Army Brat" and a "P.K."
(Preacher's kid), and has lived in New York, Alaska, Washington State; Okinawa, Japan, Maryland, and
Georgia. She graduated from Clover Park HS in Tacoma, Washington the June after Mt. St. Helen's blew her
top. She graduated from the University of Georgia in '95 where she majored in Music. She is the oldest of 3
children, her sister Lacrecia and Brother Alex and his wife all live in Atlanta. While in the Athens area
she sang with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under the direction of the late Robert Shaw.
Laneah joined our staff this January. She has been working as a church choir director since 1986. She has
been the choir director at the Wesley Foundation in Athens, GA, and Young Harris UMC in Athens, 8 years at
Sylvania 1st UMC, Pittman Park UMC in Statesboro and joined the Jesup 1st UMC staff in January of
2004. She has 2 Chihuahua's - Tess & Tigger. She is an LNP and has worked as the Employee Health
Nurse (LPN) & a Med Surg Nurse at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She enjoys, Stamping, Movies,
Singing and anything fun.
