WORSHIP

Morning Worship

Join us for worship on Sunday mornings in our beautiful sanctuary. Our traditional worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. and features music by the Worship Choir. Special soloists, youth choir, and instrumental selections are also featured on selected Sundays. Pastor Hunt brings a meaningful message each week, and is assisted throughout the service by Lay Liturgists. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.

Special observance services are held with our community churches at Lent, Easter and Thanksgiving. Dates and times are announced as planned.

Riverside Services

For the months of June through August, the Brookfield and Immanuel congregations enjoy worshiping God (one Sunday a month) at an outdoor service at the Riverside Pavilion of Viola Lee and Chip Lee. A tradition begun under Rev. Ray Lytle, members, friends and the community come as they can, dressed casually, armed with an outdoor chair to enjoy God’s message. A wonderful time of seeing the morning through God’s eyes along side the beauty of the river. Refreshments are always available and a wonderful sharing of God’s world awaits you.

Sunday School

Immanuel’s Sunday School begins each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the church hall; classes are available for all ages. Please contact Nina Voehl at info-IUMC@gmail.com.

Lots of activities are planned, special events held, special singing, plays, and skits.

As part of their outreach studies, the youth have developed a church-wide collection of canned goods that they donate quarterly to the local Community Support Services.

PRAISE GOD WITH MUSIC

Music is an integral part of Immanuel’s Worship.  Immanuel’s Worship choir meets each Wednesday evening at 7 to rehears traditional and contemporary Christian music for each Sunday’s morning worship as well as for special services throughout the year.  Special soloists, youth choir, and instrumental selections are also featured on selected Sundays.

Immanuel and Brookfield rehearse together, alternating rehearsals at each church, since the Music Director, Sandy Cross, serves in the capacity at both churches.

Each year the Brookfield and Immanuel Choir members invite other church members as well as members of community church choirs to join us for a wonderful morning presentation of a Christmas Cantata.  We begin rehearsals in October. The cantata includes not only the choir members, but the youth of both churches as participants.  This year, as an added treat, many volunteer ladies from both churches will be making vests for December’s Cantata presentation.

Youth Choir

Under the direction of Nina Voehl and Cherry Lynn Tarbox, the Youth of the Sunday School perform at various times during the year.  Their contributions include plays, octave bells, keyboard, and trumpet.  Anyone interested in participating, come to Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at our hall.

ADULT MINISTRY

The United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is composed of a community of women whose purpose is to HELP WOMEN GROW IN THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE OF God; to grow in understanding and spiritual power, to increase their knowledge of needs in the world, to support the physical and spiritual needs of the Church, and to share in the witness, service and outreach of the church.  The UMW meets the first Thursday of each month (September through May) at 9:30 a.m.  Please contact Dorothy Borras, President, for more information.

The United Methodist Men

The mission of the United Methodist Men is to provide opportunities for individual and corporate spiritual growth for all men through education, lay ministry, service and fellowship programs and activities.   All men are invited to join, to grow spiritually, and to seek daily His will.  The UMM meet the first Thursday of each month (September through May) at 7:00 p.m. in the church hall.  Please contact Ray Borras, President, for more information.

The Friendship Circle

The Friendship Circle was organized to become an integral part of the visitation program at Immanuel in 1991 through the United Methodist Women.  The goals of the groups are to visit the elderly, visit shut-ins, offer meals to those having been hospitalized or incapacitated from an injury or those experiencing a death within the immediate household.   Please contact Jean Richards, Chairperson, for more information.

Bible Study

Several times a year Bible Study classes are offered.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Pastor Hunt.
