  • Mission Work is achieved through activities like the UMCOR walk raising funds for the world wide mission of the United Methodist Church.
  • Worship for our congregation and visitors is enhanced by the committee's evaluation of worship experiences and subsequent recommendations of changes to our worship program.
  • Christianity in Community builds awareness of issues facing our community and how IUMC interacts and influences out neighborhood.

The Parish Committee meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm at the church. Events are scheduled throughout the year. Members are nominated annually; however, new members may join at any time. Stephen Ministry

For over 16 years, the IUMC Stephen Ministry continues to be committed to providing one-to-one caring ministry to persons in need. This group provides care to people in crisis or people who are hospitalized or shut in. This group of extraordinary people is dedicated to the well being and comfort of others.  They make home, hospital and nursing home visits.

IUMC Stephen Ministers have provided over 6000 hours of care to our congregation and community in the past years. The group has occasional retreats for members and interested congregation members.

If you are in need of a compassionate listener to help you through a personal crisis or would like to become a Stephen Minister, please contact the church office, (317) 356-7231 or send your concerns via email

Contact the church office or send email if you can donate your time and Christian love with others in need.

Turnover Shop Hours
Monday & Wednesday
10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Please come in the West Door
to the Lower Level.

[Anyone have a newer photo?]

We help the people of our church and community by having a clean place to shop and have very low prices on all our merchandise.

The Turnover Shop has clothes for every member of the family, toys, furniture and general household items for bargain prices.

We staff our shop with friendly and helpful volunteers who work at least one day each month. Our primary goal is to help those in need. The money we earn goes to help the IUMC missionary work.

Income from sales supports:

  1. Many mission projects in the community and city.
  2. South Indiana District mission projects.
  3. IUMC projects, equipment, building needs, youth activities, etc. which are not included in the church budget.

If you have articles to donate to the Turnover Shop, we are always looking for gently used, second hand items. We invite you as church members and guests to come see the Turnover Shop!

If you'd like more information or would like to volunteer, please email us or contact the church office at (317) 356-7231 and leave a message for Sue Hudelson.

Volunteers Needed!

We need two volunteers and manager every day.  Here are several ways on how you can help:

  1. Work just one day a month.
  2. Be a substitute when scheduled volunteers cannot work.

Turnover volunteers find the work enjoyable and rewarding!
