Summer Adventure

Since 1987, this community outreach continues to be a major element of IUMC Ministries. Our school offers a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn and create.

IUMC Preschool is a licensed facility that provides high quality, Christian based education for children 18 months through 5 years old. We offer small class sizes and a challenging atmosphere to optimize the learning potential for each student.

The preschool year begins in September and concludes in May. Preschool classes are provided with a daily snack and the opportunity for children to run and play indoors in our large muscle room or outdoors on our playground. Full day Owls eat lunch (brought from home) at school and are offered a snack in the afternoon.

All classes require a $30.00 registration fee. Families that register more than one child, pay only one registration fee. A 10% tuition discount is given to families with more than one registered student. The discount is applied to the youngest child's tuition.

Equipment fees are as follows:

+ Bunny Class: $15.00 per semester

+ Teddy Bear, Butterfly, Polar Bear, Penguin, Dolphin, Panda, Turtle and Lion Classes: $25.00 per semester

+ Owl Class: $35.00 per semester

The registration fee and 1st semester equipment fees are due with registration. Individual class descriptions and tuition costs are listed below.

Our Philosophy

In the scriptures, Jesus called the children to him, thereby recognizing them as persons of worth. At Irvington United Methodist Church, we seek to affirm this gospel imperative by maintaining a preschool program sensitive to children’s needs, responsive to their growth and open to each individual child ’s special qualities.
We believe, by providing an environment in which our children share in the beauty of God’s creation, they can come to feel and experience the love of God.
Through positive interaction with the staff and with each other, the seeds of healthy self-acceptance and self-worth are sown.

Beginning March 18, 2009, we will begin accepting registrations for the 2009-2010 school year for the classes listed below. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 9, 2009. We continue to accept new students throughout the school year as openings permit.

At 11:30 all children who are registered for EDO are taken directly to the lunchroom (all lunches must come from home). They remain with the lunch staff until 12:30. The children then transfer to the designated EDO classroom. Here they continue their afternoon with opportunities to create, read, play and have additional playground or large muscle room time with the EDO teaching staff until pick-up at 3:00. Children enrolled in the Tuesday/Thursday classes are also eligible and welcome to attend EDO.

"Lunch Bunch" Option:

Parents may choose to sign-up their child for only an additional hour after school just for lunch. Pick up is 12:30 in the lunchroom. All lunches must be brought from home and must be labled with your child's name. We can not prepare any foods on site.

Cost: EDO - $14.00 per day. "Lunch Bunch" only option - $4.00 per day. A monthly statement will be sent out for payment.

Registration/Payment: Sign-up sheets for each EDO and Lunch Bunch day are posted on the bulletin board in the main hallway of the school. You can register for as many days a month as you wish, as long as there are openings (maximum 12 students per day). EDO and Lunch Bunch run each M/W/F that school is in session, beginning the second week of school. Statements of payment due are sent out monthly by the Preschool office.
