1. Christian Religious Leadership Network on Latin America (CRLN) (#50000129)

CRLN is an ecumenical coalition involved in educational and lobbying activities regarding human rights issues in Latin America, including Columbia, El Salvador, Cuba, School of the Americas and Ecumenical Advocacy Days with CRLN Annual Public Policy Delegation in Washington, D.C.

 

2. Protestants for the Common Good (PFCG) (#50000113)

Goal:$5,000 $_________$________

Protestants for the Common Good is an advocacy group in the Chicago Metropolitan Area that acts for social justice and the common good as essential to the Christian faith, educating and mobilizing people of faith to become effective participants in political democracy. Areas of current faith concern are: Democracy, Economic Justice, Poverty, Adequate/Affordable Housing, Public Education, Criminal Justice and the Environment.

 

3. Ecumenical Millennium Committee (EMC) (#50000130)

Goal:$5,000 $_________$_________

The Ecumenical Millennium Committee is a catalyst for ecumenical courtesy, hospitality and information in the Chicago area including promotion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity during which it holds an annual Ecumenical Prayer Service with 18 judicatories. It will be the sponsoring committee for the Chicago venue of the National Workshop on Christian Unity in 2008

 

4. Greater Chicago Broadcast Ministries (GCBM) (#50000009)

Goal: $5,000 $ _________ $_________

For 48 years Broadcast Ministries, an outgrowth of the former Church Federation of Greater Chicago, has been an effective voice for mainstream Christianity in the Information Age. It presents an ecumenical vision of hope, gives a voice to the good works done by active congregations, and provides a public forum for spiritual values applied to public life. More than 1,000 teenagers and young adults from scores of area churches, high schools and youth organizations participate in the studio audience for "Different Drummers" at CBS, WBBM-TV Channel 2 every year.

 

5. Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions (CPWR) (#50000131)

CPWR's function as a facilitator of interreligious encounter, dialogue and cooperative common action puts it in a unique position to encourage and enable the religious and spiritual communities themselves to address the critical issues in meaningful and powerful ways. Headquartered in Chicago, CPWR resources programs for congregations in the metropolitan area and world, by promoting respectful and trusting relationships with all religious and spiritual communities. It provides models for encounter, dialogue and cooperation, and for creative engagement on critical issues with and other guiding institutions (e.g. government, business/commerce, education, media and science).

 

6. Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel) EAPPI (#50000138)

Goal: $5,000 $ _________ $________

EAPPI is an initiative of the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Campaign to End the Illegal Occupation of Palestine: Support a Just Peace in the Middle East. Program participants accompany Palestinians and Israelis in their non-violent actions and concerted advocacy efforts to end the occupation. They report violations of human rights and international law, support non-violent resistance alongside local Christian and Muslim Palestinians and Israeli peace activists, offer protection through non-violent presence, engage in public policy advocacy in solidarity wiht the churches and all struggling against the occupation.
