Emmy Lou John is Vice President of the World Federation of Methodist Women and immediate past president of the United Methodist Women of Northern Illinois. As team leader for the WFMW delegation to the Non Governmental Organization Forum on Women, at the Fourth World Conference on Women, in Beijing, China, she networked with other Christian groups from around the world. She led a workshop on the Ecumenical Decade of Churches in Solidarity with Women entitled Women on the Move - Where to From Here?, a worship service every morning, and statements on Religions and the development of Peace fountains. She has built bridges of peace, development and equality in Christ’s name in Girl Scouts, Law of the Sea Project, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Church Women United.

The Rev. Barbara Troxell is Assistant Professor of Practical Theology and Director of Field Education and Spiritual Formation at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Before coming here, she was Dean of Students at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, District Superintendent of the Golden Gate District of the California/Nevada Conference, Associate Director of their Conference Council of Ministries, pastored in Presbyterian and Methodist churches, and worked with the YWCA on university campuses in Ohio and California. She is a graduate of Swarthmore, and Union Theological Seminary. Recent writings include Honoring One Another with our Storie and Shared Wisdom.
She was a member of the General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns, of the General Commission On the Status and Role of Women, and of the Consultation On Church Union (COCU). She was a United Methodist Church delegate to the World Council of Churches in Seattle, to the British Methodist Conference in Norwich, and to the General Conference from the California/Nevada Conference.
