The Indian Heights
United Methodist Church Trustees were comprised of ten members that provided
significant talents and skills to manage the assets of the church while
reducing budget impact.
The Trustees organized
and scheduled both spring and fall cleanups that completed many specific
tasks required for parsonage and church maintenance and cleaning activities
for each event. The Trustees completed many other projects consisting
of the following categories across the grounds, parsonage, and other church
facilities.
2004 Trustees Accomplishments
Overview
Grounds:
Church entrance - outdoor carpet cleaned.
Parking lot curbs installed with new building addition.
Contracted for lawn mowing and snow removal.
New shed obtained and installed for maintenance building for lawn and
other equipment.
All out-buildings painted to match new maintenance building.
Large pine tree in front of church removed.
Space in front of parsonage redone for beautification and ease of up-keeping.
Installed small new deck in front of church and reinstalled donated bench.
Landscaping - bushes, flowers, and landscape watering.
Obtained and spread mulch in playground area.
Labyrinth constructed on church grounds with help of gifts, donations
and much work by
congregations members.
Plumbing:
Multiple plumbing repairs and replacements in the downstairs bathrooms.
Repairs to upstairs parsonage bathroom.
Interior Maintenance:
Carpet cleaning completed in Fellowship Hall with plans to clean narthex,
classrooms and
parsonage before year end.
Lighting repairs made in sanctuary and other church areas.
Building:
Completion of building addition (separate report to be made by Building
Committee).
Pastor’s office, secretary’s and office supply rooms redecorated.
Included painting, new carpet,
lighting fixture updates and shelves.
Painting of east wall in Fellowship Hall downstairs.
Obtained contract for fire system inspection by Jayhawk Fire Sprinkler
Co.
Flush fire line quarterly for new fire sprinkler system.
Facilities:
Reviewed and adopted new fee schedule for church facility rental.
The Trustees have
one large outstanding task that will require significant effort in 2005.
That being the need to redo the entire church parking lot at an estimated
cost of $80,000.
