The Mother's Day Out program was started by Indian Heights United Methodist Church in September 1973 as a service to the community. We operate three days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and are licensed by the State of Kansas for up to 24 children a day, from ages one to five years. We are sponsored by Indian Heights United Methodist Church.
With the changing times and need for a more progressive curriculum to help children be more prepared for school, Indian Heights changed the state licensing name from Mother's Day Out to Indian Heights Preschool and Parent's Day Out in late August 1996.
The preschool curriculum is designed to develop listening skills, encourage creativity, promote social, physical and emotional growth, increase large and small muscle coordination and create problem solving skills. The preschool children have fun while learning at activity centers, experiencing science, music, computer skills, and creative art (cutting, pasting and coloring).
The children are accepted regardless of race, creed, religion, sex, color or national origin. The certified staff work hard at creating a loving and caring environment for the children. We continue to have an excellent reputation in the community.
