Administrative Council Charge Conference Report The Administrative Council of Indian Heights meets on the fourth Monday of each month during the year. The council consists of the chairpersons of the various ministry area committees, at-large members, treasurer, lay representatives to annual conference, the pastor, and council officers. The council’s function is to coordinate the many activities of the church through the sharing of committee reports and to serve as the policy-making body of the Church. The year 2002 marked the third year of Indian Heights’ 5-year visionary plan and focused almost entirely on long-sought expansion and improvement of facilities. A Building Committee was established under the chairmanship of Chuck Reeves, and through careful planning, hard work and a generous congregation, the church is well on the way toward “Building to Touch Loves.” Details of the plans and accomplishments to date can be found in the Building Committee report in this document. Suffice it to say, however, Chuck and his committee have done and are still doing an excellent job toward producing larger and more functional facilities, and we thank them for their important leadership. Our “Hallelujah” contemporary service, early Sunday mornings, is more than a year old now and has been well received. The 8:30 a.m. service provides an option for our members and for the community. Hope continues that it will result in membership growth for the church. Our committees are alive and well, and have conducted important programs throughout the year, such as Vacation Bible School, Lenten services, New Members all-church Picnic, spring and fall cleanups, Promotion Sunday, Bible Study classes, the annual church auction, Advent celebration, and others. Meanwhile, the commitment of Indian Heights to reach out to the community and beyond continues unabated. We have supported local humanitarian projects such as Harvesters, Habitat for Humanity, Cross-Lines, the Garden Project, Manor Care worship, and an area food kitchen, and sent another large delegation of adults and youth with Pastor Cheryl to Guatemala for still another church work project. Church members are committed to return to Guatemala in early 2003. Because of the dedication and hard work of various committees, the caring and friendliness of our congregation, the talents and commitment of our staff, and the spiritual leadership provided by Pastor Cheryl, Indian Heights continues to be a very special place to glorify God and benefit our community. Thanks and God bless you all!
