Immanuel United Methodist Church

The sanctuary of the church is handicap accessible.   We have a handicap ramp and handicap accessible bathrooms.   The ramp is located on the Cherry Street side of the church.

The mission of the Immanuel United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus the Christ by boldly proclaiming Christ to the world.   We do this by sharing this good news with all people. This is our response to the love of God through the revelation of Jesus the Christ.  

Pastor Hooker has arrived

Pastor Hooker has preached twice at Immanuel since his arrival in Waltham.   Together we are preserving the worshipful atmosphere and creating new traditions as we grow in faith.   From the pulpit our new Pastor has asked how is your spiritual life?  

He has preached on Psalm 119:105-112 and reminded us that the Word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. He reminds us that worship is for Sunday and for the whole week. Come and worship with us.  

Pastor Jeffrey L. Hooker is a pastoral intern at Union United Methodist Church and is also a second year Master’s of Divinity Student at Boston University’s School of Theology.   A native of, New York Pastor Jeffrey has recently relocated to Brookline, Massachusetts.   A graduate of Nyack College, Pastor Jeffrey received a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry with a concentration in preaching and leadership .  

He served as a Youth Pastor for “La Resurrección” United Methodist Church of Haverstraw and then would go on to serve as Associate Pastor for that congregation.   He partnered a short term outreach trip to bring aid to the people of the Dominican Republic during the Easter week.   Pastor Jeffrey preached several store front church’s including the mother church supporting the outreach during Easter Sunday service.   He worked as a counselor for senior boys aged 10-13 during the summer time off from school at Mount Lawn Camp in the Pocono’s Pennsylvania.   Pastor Jeffrey worked 3 years as the head manager of Matt’s Sporting Good’s in Haverstraw New York prior to attending Boston University.   He is currently in the process of being certified for candidacy in the order of Elder for the United Methodist Church.

As you may know the Get Books program has brought a lot of visitors to Immanuel's website.   If you live in the Waltham area, we invite you to visit.   It is an exciting time at Immanuel as we will have another lay minister preaching, the last sermon of our outgoing pastor and the arrival of our incoming pastor all in a very short time.
