Flood Bucket Supplies

These supplies help people begin the overwhelming cleanup job after a flood or storm. All items sent must be new.

5-gallon bucket with resealable lid
1 quart or one 82 oz.bottle of bleach (2 1/2 qt. bottles are available in most stores)
scouring pads
sponges (assorted sizes in packs of 7)
scrub brush
cleaning towels (reusable wipes)
25 oz. bottles of liquid laundry detergent (or 1  50 oz. bottle)
bottle of household cleaner (12 or 16 oz.) 12 oz. Lysol concentrate works well
bottle of disinfectant dish soap (16-28 oz)
clothes pins
clothes line (2 (50 ft.) or 1 (100 ft)
dust masks
pair latex gloves 
pair work gloves
heavy-duty trash bags (33-45 gallon size) - remove from boxes before placing in buckets
can of insect repellant spray (6-14 oz) - if aerosol cans, must have protective caps
can of air freshener (8 or 9 oz.) - if aerosol cans, must have protective caps

Approximate cost per bucket: $45

Donations may be made to Conference Advance Special # 6620 (Midwest Mission Distribution Center) and specify funds be used for flood buckets.

June 14th, 2008 -"Fishing with My Father"- Come to Lake Shelbyville on Sat. June 16th from 10am to 4pm for a fun day fishing with the whole family.  We will be fishing by the 9th Street Pavilion Area near the beach. Adult supervision required for each family!  Fee - $5.00 per adult/$2.50 per child.  Late fee (after June 12th) of $8.00 per adult and $4.00 per child.  Fee includes 1 drink, prizes.  Bait provided at nominal cost.

On Sunday Jan 21st, 2001 Ralph Harris of the Illinois River District and member of Pekin Grace United Methodist Church was recognized as a John Wesley Fellow.  The introduction of laity or clergy into this fellowship recognizes their distinguished service to the church.  The recognition made available through the United Methodist Men's Foundation is designed to promote greater awareness of the Christian principles and practices embodied in the United Methodist Church and the development of these values.  The $1,000 contribution to the Foundation will be used to endow the church's mission through the church scouting program or in support of men's ministry.  Congratulations Ralph for furthering the work of Jesus in your church and conference!
