Brrrr...cold outside this October day. Oh, I knew fall was here and the days are shorter--- but I am finally ready for Summer and its over. Ever feel like that? I had a great September it was a very busy month. The Bloodmobile visited Iberia on the 3rd. Sixteen joined the Friendship Parish , there were lots of birthdays and anniversaries. Iberia is having a Confirmation Plus Class for the people of the Friendship Parish. There are eleven churches attending the Friendship Parish. We are all small churches who gather once a month for special Sunday Night Services. They are sponsored by the Friendship Parish. We have a light meal at 6pm and services at 7pm. At the September Service, Jane Horton sang for the parish. She is so good! I remember Jane. Her children and my children went to the same school together, and they were friends. Time separated us so it was like a reunion seeing Jane after so many years have passed.
Our next Friendship Parish Service will be October 25 at Ebenezer UMC. We will have a talent-sharing night. Anyone may come to these services .
The Iberia Social Event was great… much thanks to all who made this possible-- the volunteers! Plans are in the process for next year! A wedding on the 19th of September united Joshua Wagner and Jamie Wright as man and wife. What a privilege this is for a pastor! Sixteen opened their doors to the church for this loving event. Families had a good reunion, laughs, joy and love at this wedding. Congratulations to this happy couple.
God is so good!
On the 25th-- I attended the Galion High School Football game. Howard and I sat with the class of 1964. The team won and the classmates of ‘64 shared life stories. The next night, classmates gathered together to share an evening of past, present, and plans for the future. Food was good, stories made us laugh and everyone enjoyed a 45th reunion.
I think heaven will be sort of like this… sharing -- laughs, good food, and the love of the Lord. It will be a good reunion!
So, in October, we have confirmation plus classes, Bible Studies, Friendship Parish, Charge Conferences, fun and good reunions! I pray your reunions will be filled with laughter, joy, and the love of God.
"Jesus is Lord!" This weeks Scripture Is: Joel 2: 14
God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16. God is love; and it is good, as it is true, to think that every sun-ray that touches the earth has the sun at the other end of it; so every bit of love upon God's earth has God at the other end of it. —Thoughts for the Quiet Hour
