Even though the winter was a mild one, it feels good to say goodbye to it and wecome in this time outdoors. We had two fun events in March that I must take a moment to say thank you for. First the MYF was treated to a wonderful ski weekend at the beautiful home of the Dodillets in the Catskills. It was an amazing weekend and there aren't enough words to express how much we appreicated the generous hospitality. Our second big event was our Easter Sunrise Service. I am proud of the job the MYFers did! Thank you to each of you... and also to the parents. A large thank you to Lois Cornell (ushers) and Rev. Beaven (who recommended the scripture from Romans) for your support. Our big event in April will be our yearly retreat at Quinipet on April 19 to 21. The retreat is a L. I. East district sponsored weekend and there are at least 8 churches represented. The theme this year is "SPLAT" .... Seek, Pray, Learn, Act and Teach. I am confident that our kids will once again make us all very proud. There is still room in our van for the trip to HENDERSON SETTLEMENT in Kentucky this summer. I can promise that you will come home with a new-found peace in your heart because you will have been helping others and growing yourself.. We will be going from July 5 to 13. Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions about the expedition. Phil Martelli, Youth Coordinator |
