Our Church family supports a variety of organizations working in our community and throughout the world. We actively participate with our time, our talents and our monetary contributions.

Missions Work Area - whether collecting kits to aid disaster victims and students in underdeveloped countries or making the annual work trip to the Red Bird Mission in the mountain communities of Eastern Kentucky, our work area on Missions is constantly making a difference. Here's one place where you can put your money and your hands where your mouth is!

Our Ministry to Others: throughout the years, this Church family has provided financial support for many organizations. Among them are:
Huntington Coalition for the Homeless
Huntington Food Council
Bread of Life Inn
Youth Guidance
UNICEF
Red Bird Mission
Heifer Project
Advance Special for Disaster Relief
Huntington Freedom Center
American Bible Society
United Methodist Committee on Relief

Missions News

The Missions Task Force is currently planning our biennial expedition to Henderson Settlement in Eastern Kentucky.  We will be going from July 5th to July 13th, 2008.  We are also planning a trip to Biloxi, Mississippi to help with the ongoing repairs after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The United Methodist Church in Huntington-CSH sells ³debit cards² in support of the above mission trips.  When you purchase a card for King Kullen, Stop Œn Shop, Waldbaums or Wild By Nature, you help buy the construction materials that we use on the two mission trips listed above.

Congratulations to Cub Scout Pack 181 that donated 954 pounds of food for the Huntington Food Council.  They outdid even their wildest expectations!

The next Harvest Fair and Auction is scheduled for September 2 and in October, respectively.  One-half of the money raised through these booths go to local non-profit agencies.  In 2007 we donated $8,500 to the Dolan Family Health Center and to the Huntington Freedom Center (a child care center for working parents and their children).
