Description: The Choir Director
is responsible for the musical leadership of the adult
choir, which provides music for the Sunday morning worship
service (currently 9am) from early September through the end
of June. The position falls under the leadership of the
Pastor and the direction of the Worship Committee while
evaluations and financial concerns fall ultimately to the
Pastor-Parish-Staff Committee. A budget line is in place for
new music as needed.
Qualifications: The Choir
Director should be a skilled musician with an appreciation
for a variety of sacred music forms and a demonstrated
ability in choral directing, preferably with a group
comprised of amateur vocalists with varied skill levels.
Good organizational skills and time management are expected.
Compensation: This is a part
time staff position, requiring participation at two sessions
per week: one weekly rehearsal (currently Wednesday evening)
and one Sunday morning worship service. Compensation is per
session attended.
