Our worship service is a celebration of the Lord blending contemporary and traditional worship styles.  The celebration includes praise choruses, hymns, prayers, the message, multi-media presentation, and a special children's time.

On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion. We invite and welcome you to come celebrate the Lord with us.

Adult Classes

Class Description
The A.C.T. Class

Act for Christ Today
Our class is predominantly couples, with some singles, whose children range from junior high age to grown.  We use the Wesley study series and are led by Jane Middleton.  Our members are active in the Church, and we have social gatherings once every two months.
Ecclesia Class Young adults, middle-aged couples, and individual spouses journey through God's Word.
Discovery Class This class meets in back building (middle room). The class is lead by the Spirit where we are free discuss our problems, learn/study the Word of God and enjoy a loving Christian atmosphere.
Wesley Class
The Youth of Yesterday
Our class began in 1955 as about 10 couples joined to form the "Young Couples Class".  The name was later changed, but we still use the same chairs (although padding has recently been added!).  The Wesley Class has six teachers who rotate Sundays, and we are currently studying the United Methodist literature series - in large print. This class enjoys a lively fellowship as we gather to glean insight into God's word.  We do have empty seats, and the welcome mat is always out.
Koinonia Class
(koy-nohn-ee'-ah)
We are a group of women from of all ages, single and married.  Koinonia is a Greek word meaning fellowship, and is derived from koinonos- sharer, companion, partaker, partner. The term is inherent in the Israelite covenant, grounded in the Lord's promise "I will be with you" (Ex 3:12).  In the New Testament, believers are called into fellowship with the Son  (1 Cor 1:9) and thereby also with one another (1 John 1:6-7).  Our studies are selected on an as needed basis and led by the Holy Spirit.  Each person studies and class time becomes discussion time for our studies.  Time is taken to enjoy each other, express our needs, and pray.
Peggy Richardson leads the Koinonia Class.

Youth Classes

Class Description
Senior High Class April Roddy leads this class. See their MYSPACE for details.
Junior High Class
For the first part of the year, we study the great stories of the Old Testament. These stories come from Genesis and Exodus.  Our studies in the second part of the year center on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.  For these lessons, we look at stories from the 4 Gospels.
5th/6th grades
A fun class designed to help students become more and more familiar with the Bible and looking up Scriptures.  Discussions focus on applying Bible stories to our lives and using God's Word to help with making life choices.

Children Classes

Class Description
3rd/4th grades This is an energetic and friendly class eager to learn about the Bible and how to use the Bible to look up Scripture.  We learn that God's love is always there for everyone.  Another topic studied is to learn about angels and our relationship with them.  Most importantly, the concept of an important choice is emphasized. Each individual must make the choice to ask Jesus into their heart.  That is a choice God offers to us all.
1st/2nd grades
The 1st and 2nd graders are led by April Taylor.  This is currently a small class that enjoys learning about the Bible.  Come join us in the first room on the right in the west hallway.
Ages 5-6 yrs The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children meet in the second room on the right in the west hallway, and are taught by Paula Cavender. This Sunday school class involves learning the stories of the Bible and of Jesus' love for us through songs, storytelling, and games.
Ages 3-4 yrs
This age of children meet in the first room on the left on the north hallway. We learn about stories of the Bible through reading, interactive exercises and activities, and art projects.  We join the other children and our teacher at 9:00 in the Choir room first for learning and singing songs that teach us about God and Jesus.
Ages 0-2 yrs
The babies meet in the north Nursery room, last on the left on the North hallway. We meet our teacher and the other young children to sing in the choir room to start our Sunday mornings.  We learn wonderful songs and we all enjoy a snack during class.

Sunday Worship Services

Both 8:30 am and 11:00am services follow same schedule.
An audio recording of our Sunday morning worship service is available for distribution to our shut-ins or those who are unable to attend worship due to illness or absence, so that everyone has an opportunity to worship the Lord. Email us or call us at 903-532-6718 to recieve your free tape.
Lighting of the Altar Candles Before the service begins a person called an Acolyte brings in the flame that will light the candles on the Altar Table. This is called "The Light of Christ" and it reminds us that before worship starts our Lord and Savior should be present. At the end of the service the Acolyte will come and snuff out the light but before he does he will transfer the light to his wick and carry it out of the sanctuary symbolizing that “The Light of Christ” now goes into the world ahead of us to help and guide us.
Call to Worship This part is the beginning of the actual Worship experience. It is usually a leader lead with the congregation responding to help us to get into the theme of the morning.
Prayer We need to talk to God and we need to do it in many different ways. To ask for help, to ask for healing, ask for forgiveness and to ask for the sake of others. It is hard to build a relationship up with God and never speak to him. We need to do it and often. Jesus taught us a great prayer.
Songs of Worship Songs of Worship are lead by our Praise Team. Our Praise Team glorifies God with guitars, drums, keyboards, piano, organ, and lifted voices.
Affirmation of Faith Affirmation of Our Faith by reciting the Apostles' Creed and singing "Glory Be To The Father"
Extending our Friendship This time gives our Church time to welcome each other with a smile and a friendly hand shake or hug.
Children's Time Children 3-6 years of age may be dismissed to Children's Church Following Children's Time or feel free to remain in the santuary to hear the message.
Offering our Gifts "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow"
The Church in Prayer We need to talk to God and we need to do it in many different ways. To ask for help, to ask for healing, ask for forgiveness and to ask for the sake of others. It is hard to build a relationship up with God and never speak to him. We need to do it and often. Jesus taught us a great prayer.
Scripture Passages of the Bible are always read at every worship experience. The Bible is our instruction book and written by people who were God inspired. Handed down from generation to generation the Bible helps to tell us what people have learned about and who God is and how to build a relationship with him.
Message Some churches call this part the Homily or the sermon. This is where the Pastor or spiritual leader for the day telsl us what God is saying though them and to us.
Hymn of Invitation Those wishing to commit thier lives to Christ, pray, or join the church are invited to come forward at this time.
Sending Forth Some churches will call this the benediction. It is a way to challenge us to continue to be the people of God outside the sanctuary walls. It is easy to leave the place of worship and to go right back to being and living without God at our sides. This indeed is a challenge.
