Who is Jesus?

Almost 2000 years ago, Jesus entered the human race in a small Jewish community. He was a member of a poor family, a minority group, and resided in one of the smallest countries in the world. He lived approximately thirty-three years, of which only the last three comprised his public ministry.

One Solitary Life

Yet people almost everywhere still remember him. The date of the morning newspaper bears witness to the fact that Jesus lived one of the greatest lives ever lived.

Jesus Christ is actually a name and a title. The name Jesus is derived from the Greek form of the name Jeshua or Joshua meaning “Jehova-Savior” or “the Lord saves”. The title Christ is derived from the Greek word for Messiah and means “anointed one”. Two offices, king and priest, are involved in the use of the title “Christ”. His title affirms Jesus as the promised priest and king of the Old Testament prophecies.

The Romans Road

The apostle Paul's letter to the Romans is said to be one of the most clear and straightforward proclamations of the doctrines of Christian faith. As such, it offers numerous passages, directives rather, that Paul urged the church in Rome to follow. Four distinct passages sum up Paul's letter and provide timeless clarity for new Christians and non-believers today. They are sometimes referred to as The Romans Road, for they provide a clear path to God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ:
Romans 3:23
...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we are still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And finally,
Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

The Sinner's Prayer

Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Forgive me and cleanse me. Right this moment I trust you as Savior and Lord. Make me the type of person you created me to be. In Christ's name.  Amen.

A Prayer for New Christians

Strong and mighty Father, please bless several new Christians who are on my heart today.  Help them recognize your presence in their lives.  Please maximize the good in every effort they make and intention they have to honor you and bless your people. Protect them from the evil one. In Jesus' name I ask this blessing.  Amen.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God...not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
