GideonsThe Gideons International, founded in 1899, serves as an extended missionary arm of the church and is the oldest Christian business and professional men's association in the United States of America. A board of distinguished Christian laymen, international in makeup, supervises the worldwide Gideon ministry, ensuring an efficient, economical operation. A non-profit organization, the Gideons International is generously supported by pastors and churches, who realize than an indispensable element in winning people to Christ is to present them with the Gospel message. Every dollar contributed by members of the church is used to make it possible for others to have their very own copies of God's Word. Good WorksOur Mission
Hopewell UMC supports the work of Good Works through the volunteering of a number of men the forth Saturday of each month. One of the side benefits of volunteering is that a delicious lunch is prepared for the workers. All Hopewell members are urged to help out and can contact Ross Mowery or Scott Patton for further direction. Helping HandsHelping Hands is a ministry of people at Hopewell United Methodist that provide a variety of assistance to those in need. Helping hands is a visible extension of the love of Christ through the support and caring of members of the congregation and the community. Helping Hands can meet short-term emergency needs during difficult times or in situations where Christian compassion is needed. And it's a practical way to say "Hopewell cares." Helping Hands can provide: Meals - Short-term meal preparation for families or persons in
times of crisis, illness, or special need. For more information on Helping Hands or to make a request for services, please contact Ruth Lammey, Joyce O'Brien, or Peggy Puy. Scouts at HopewellHopewell is happy to host several scouting groups each year. Children and youth from schools around central Chester County meet weekly under our roof. For more information on any of the Scouting programs at Hopewell, contact Kurt Thompson or visit Troop 8's web page.
