Sunday School for All Ages at Hope United Methodist

Sunday School begins in September running from 9:30 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. We follow the Eau Claire Public School calendar, most of the time, and do not have Sunday School when the schools are on vacations. The Sunday prior to Memorial Day is typically the last day of Sunday School for the school year.

2005-2006 Calendar

Feb. 19 - No school (President’s Day Break) Feb. 26-Pancake Breakfast
March 19 - No school (Spring Break)
March 26 - No school (Spring Break)

Spiritual curiosity is not limited to children at Hope. Adult Class meets in classroom across from the kitchen on the main level and is topic/theme based, varying through the year. It is taught by different adults depending on the topic/theme.

Nursery provided on main level in office wing for ages 0-36 months.

Children/Youth Sunday School meet in lower level classrooms for ages 3-Senior High.

We have a new curriculum for Nursery through Middle School called “Faith Weavers” by Group Publishing.   A website is available at www.faithweaver.com.  Grades 4 - 5 supplement with “Learning to Use My Bible”.  The Middle School class supplements with a discussion based curriculum by Group Publishing called “Pulse” and Nexge Publishing called “Custom Curriculum”.

The children/youth typically participate in a Christmas program which we present at a Sunday service in December.

This year’s youth/child classes and teachers are:

PreSchool – ages 3-5: Andi Phillips and Natasha Ottum teachers.  Marcia Kissinger, Tori Dexter, and Lisa Hudson assisting.

Grades K – 1 : Becky Gochanour and Stacy Curtis, teachers.  Lori Wolf, Renee Marino, Lisa Hudson assisting.

Grades 2 – 3: Joy and Mark Nodland and Renee Marino teachers.

Grades 4 – 5: Sharon Fortune and DeeAnn Fritz, teachers.

Middle School:  Justin Norlander and Jason Herrington, teachers.

Senior High Youth Group: Our High School Youth Group is offering a Bible Study every other Wednesday eve.  We are encouraging our youth to participate in this wonderful community building study experience.  High School youth can sign-up to assist in one of the younger child classrooms.

In addition to our Sunday School curriculum we have a Children’s Sermon as part of the 10:30 service.
