Opportunities for Youth and Young Adults

There are several ways that teenagers and young adults from North America can learn about, be friends with and serve the people and churches of Honduras!  For youth to experience the friendship, generosity and spirit of the Honduran people, while observing Honduras' material poverty and social problems, is a truly life-changing experience.

Serve on an UMVIM Team

Many young people have successfully served on UMVIM teams.  We encourage local team leaders to invite teens to join their teams.  There are few - if any - work activities that teenagers cannot successfully take on.  Teens will bring a welcome dose of energy, enthusiasm and humor to your team!

Sign Up To Be Part Of A Sierra Service Project Youth Team

The Sierra Service Project (SSP) is a United Methodist youth ministry organization which has been sending teams of youth and young adults to Honduras since 2002.  SSP's projects are done in close cooperation with UMVIM and the United Methodist Church in Honduras.  SSP's projects  take place in the summer.  They are two weeks long and include paid staff, leadership by a United Methodist pastor, and approximately 10 youth.  Teams build one or two complete houses and do construction work on the local United Methodist church center.

Visit SSP's website for lots more information on serving in Honduras.
