Ministry at La Jagua

 

          La Jagua is a rural area southeast of Danli, about 50 minutes by bus .  A local coffee grower donated land upon which a church sanctuary has been built and a Sunday school classroom building has been started.  There is no electricity at this site.

          Alba Lagos is a Lay Leader from Danli serving this community and congregation.  She works closely with the community leadership regarding issues of community needs and improvement.

 
Current Ministries

Literacy program twice a week led by Alba Lagos.

Providing food and clothing to people of limited resources. 

Providing scholarships to children so they can attend public school.

There is a water well on the church property which provides water to the community.

      Weekly Schedule:

            Tuesday     4:00 p.m.      Literacy class
                             
6:00 p.m.      Worship service

            Thursday    6:00 p.m.      Bible Study

            Sunday      2:00 p.m.      Literacy class
                              3:00 p.m.      Worship with preaching service, and Sunday School for children


Needs and Plans

            To put the roof on and finish the partially-completed Sunday School building.

            Install windows in church building.

            Install tile floor in church building. 

            To develop and strengthen small groups within the Church.
