Other comments on this site:
·        Fuerzas Unidas (the worksite) is a very poor community, so take precautions.

Be discreet with items of value, including cameras, electronic gear, jewelry,
money, and passports.  Pay attention to and follow the advice of the local
pastors about where is safe and not safe to walk alone.
·        Fuerzas Unidas is separate from Monte Carmelo, which is a secure retreat
center, without the same security concerns of Fuerzas Unidas.
·        Tegucigalpa is in the cooler mountains of the country, so bring one extra layer
(like a sweatshirt) for cool mornings and evenings.

Cultural considerations:  See the general cultural awareness page on this website.

Sight-seeing opportunities from this site:  (team pays extra cost)
·        Valle de Angeles—an artisan village about 45 min. away from Tegucigalpa .

A day-trip to buy local crafts.  Often a Sunday morning trip for Fuerzas Unidas
teams, returning to Fuerzas Unidas for the afternoon worship service.

Preferred airport in Honduras (destination city): Tegucigalpa
