The United Methodist Mission Church of Honduras is a community of Christ-seeking men, women and children from throughout Honduras who have built twelve growing congregations. Each community of faith is engaged in a variety of ministries, reaching out to neighbors living with the challenges of poverty. These ministries are supported, in part, by North American volunteers and with support from United Methodist Churches in the US.

A Great Program Planned for the Honduras Consultation in Austin, Texas
You will meet, hear messages and worship with some great leaders of the United Methodist Mission Church in Honduras. You will learn up-to-date information about the mission church, become better prepared to send mission teams and be prepared to provide information to your home church. In addition to the fellowship and learning experiences, the consultation will be a celebration for the United Methodist Mission Church in Honduras. Since the annual meeting last December, there have been great advances in providing medical care at several of the church sites by medical mission teams, several construction projects are underway, two new congregations started this year, the first Honduran pastor came to the states to start the ordination process, several church programs have expanded and the leadership has grown to be able to bring the Good News to more Hondurans. Send in your registration TODAY so you can celebrate and learn more about God’s work in Honduras. The hotel deadline is October 5, 2006. Pastor Randy Webster to Speak at Consultation
| Randy Webster, pastor of the La Ceibita congregation, will be participating in the consultation. This is a wonderful surprise for many of you who have wanted Randy to participate and have worked to get a visa for him. It is a wonderful surprise that Randy received a visa at this time when it is very difficult to get visas from the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa. Randy has worked on Roatan several years for the Methodist Church of the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA). Some of you have been on mission teams to Roatan and Randy was your local leader. Randy speaks English and will be one of the translators at the consultation in addition to being a worship leader and speaker. Those who haven’t met Randy, this is a rare occasion to get to know him outside of Honduras. If you want to learn more about Randy and the La Ceibita UMC, visit the Web site,

Talanga Pastor Ana Ruth Garcia to Speak at Consultation

Pastor Ana Ruth Garcia of Talanga Central UMC |
Pastor Ana Ruth Garcia, Talanga Central UMC, for the past two years has been president of the National United Methodist Women’s Organization in Honduras. She does this with a passion because Honduras has a high incidence of domestic violence and abuse. It is a challenge for her to help women and children to overcome these experiences. Pastor Garcia has been married for 9 years and has a beautiful 3 year old son. Pastor Garcia says “One day, God touched my heart with a strong call to be a pastor – to serve Him in a special way. Now I am finishing my theological studies in the Universidad Biblica Latinoamericana of Costa Rica.” At the consultation you will hear a great message from Pastor Garcia and you will meet a native Honduran with lots of insight into the problems of women and children in Honduras. |
