Deciding the Length of your

Mission Trip

A Rule of Thumb for determining the length of your trip is to calculate:

·        5 work days,

·        at least one full day on each end of the trip for air travel to and from Honduras.  Teams from western U.S. often need 2 days for travel each way.

·        some teams schedule sight-seeing days at the end of the trip.  The number of extra days depends on the sight-seeing destination.

 Remember these factors:

·        Neither UMVIM teams nor locals work on Sundays.

·        For Honduras UMVIM, it does not matter what day of the week a team arrives or departs.

·        Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days at the airport.  Expect longer waits.

·        It is nice to include a Sunday to worship with the local congregation at whatever point in the team’s schedule.

·        UMVIM teams come to Honduras during all months of the year.  Expect wetter conditions mid-May through mid-July, and then again September through October.

·        No UMVIM teams are scheduled in Honduras during Holy Week.
