Health Care Educational Materials Prevention of illness is a significant focus for development in our Health Care Ministry endeavors. Under the adage of "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," we are seeking to help the people of Honduras in their educational efforts regarding the values of effective preventive medicine, child care, safe food and water concerns, prenatal health, recognition of disease and a myriad of other issues that will help people to live a healthier life. There is a long way to go and as of mid-2009 we are just scratching the surface of this huge opportunity. We hope to continue to grow this area of our Health Care Ministry and welcome the assistance of UMVIM volunteers in this development process. Linked below are educational materials that we hope will be useful for health care teams to incorporate in their mission processes. They appear in both English and Spanish, and we suggest that teams consider using these materials during patient waiting periods, or as stand alone presentations geared toward the appropriate audience. Remembering that illiteracy is significant issue to be considered, careful and heartfelt explanations will go a long way to effectively communicating vital information to our audience. |
