2009 Honduras Summit

The 2009 Honduras Summit was held on September 10, 11, and 12 at Christ Church United Methodist  in Louisville, Kentucky.   The staff and volunteers at Christ Church, led by Dr. Bonnie MacDonald, made each and every attendee feel entirely welcomed and very much at home.

Attending from Honduras were Mission Superintendent, Roberto Peņa, Country Director, David Ceballos, UMVIM Coordinators Cindy Ceballos, Ron and Loretta Davidson, and Pastors Alba Lagos and Luis Soto.  From the General Board of Global Ministries were Rev. Edgar Avitia and Rev Patrick Friday.  Leadership for the three day event was provided by Bishop Elias Galvan.

On Thursday evening a welcome and reception were hosted by the team at Christ Church and attendees got their first taste of the delicious food that was to come from the kitchen at the church.  It was wonderful to see old friends and to meet new ones.

On Friday morning Dr. George Strunk, the Senior Pastor at Christ Church, preached and inspiring sermon while music was lead on the magnificent organ by Dr. Paul Detterman.  Dr. Bonnie McDonald coordinated minute to minute activities throughout the 3-day event.
