Our Philosophy
The Hollywood United Methodist Preschool, an outreach ministry of the Hollywood United Methodist Church, was established in September 1975. The preschool program is designed to help the individual child develop socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own pace through individual and group instruction.

Classes and Staff
We offer a part-time preschool program for children ages 2 years through 4-and-a-half-years old. We have a stimulating and well-educated staff ready to encourage and guide your child. Our center's adult-to-child ratio is less than recommended by the State of Maryland. We are licensed by the Maryland State Department of Human Resources, and regulated by the Office of Childcare. We are also recognized as a 1/2 day MSDE Kindergarten.

Fall Class Registration Begins February 2, 2009

Registration for New Families Begins March 2, 2009

Family Registration Fee: $75.00 (Due upon registration)
First Month’s Tuition due by August 1, 2009
(Registration fee and first month’s tuition are non-refundable)

The monthly tuition will be paid one month in advance with the final payment of the school year being due on April 10, 2010. Multiple-child Family discount: Families with more than one child attending our school will receive a 10% discount on their family’s total tuition fees. Classes are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a class is full, your child will be placed on a waiting list for that class.

Class Offerings

For 2-Year-Old Children
(Children must be two BEFORE beginning this class)
Toddler playgroup, classes limited to 9 children

Monday/Wednesday/Friday AM Class Time: 9:15 until 11:45 - Tuition: $160.00 per month
Tuesday&Thursday AM Class Time: 9:15 until 11:45 - Tuition: $140.00 per month

Our toddler playgroup is designed to be a child's first experience away from home. The focus of the class will be on social interaction and verbal communications. Exploration of their environment and "hands-on" activities are planned as well as time for stories, songs and finger plays.

For 3-Year-Old Children
(Children should have reached their 3rd birthday by September 1, 2009)
Class is limited to 17 students for the AM class, PM class is limited to 9 students

Tuesday/Thursday AM Class Time: 9:15 until 11:45 - Tuition: $140.00 per month
Monday/Wednesday/Friday PM Class Time: 12:30 until 3:00 - Tuition: $160.00 per month

Our class for three-year-olds will include time for social interaction, further language development, increased development in small and large motor skills, structured group times, and continued exploration of their environment through "hands-on" activities.

For 4-Year-Old Children
(Children must have their fourth birthday by September 1, 2009 to enroll in this class)
Classes are limited to 17 students

Monday/Wednesday/Friday AM Class Time: 9:15 until 11:45 - Tuition: $160.00 per month
Monday through Friday Afternoons Time: 12:30 until 3:00 - Tuition: $225.00 per month

The AM class is recommended for the younger four or the children who have not previously attended a structured program. The PM class is recommended for the older four-year-old, or for children who have previously attended a structured program. Both classes provide an opportunity for the child to explore with materials, ideas and personal relationships as a firm foundation of readiness for elementary school. These are pre-kindergarten readiness programs.

Kindergarten Program
(Children should have reached their fifth birthday by September 1, 2009)
Class is limited to 8 students

Monday thru Friday Mornings Time: 9:15 am until 1:00 pm - Tuition: $265.00 per month

This half-day program is designed to meet and exceed the expectations of a typical kindergarten program. The small class size allows more one-on-one interaction between the student and the teachers. Learning to function in a group, yet maintaining their individuality is our goal. Each child will be encouraged to advance at his/her own pace. This program is recognized by the MSDE.

* Note: Children wishing to gain early admittance must pass a kindergarten readiness test administered by this school.
