1857 - Fifteen men
and women were chartered as the Fostoria of the
1862 - One-room brick church erected for $1,500 1889 - New church built and name changed to First United Brethren. Cost $13,000. 1946 - The United Brethren and Evangelical denominations united and name changed to First Evangelical United Brethren. 1959 - Educational unit completed and dedicated. 1968 - Merger of Methodist and Evangelical United Brethren churches and name changed to High Street United Methodist. 1979 - New sanctuary completed and dedicated. Cost of buildings and furnishings $605,000. 1993 - Mortgage burning for new sanctuary took place.
