Dear Colleagues in Ministry,

Welcome to the High Point District! We begin a new adventure in ministry together this year, and a new chapter in the history of this great district!

On the first page of this web site you see a new symbol for our district. It is one that I hope not only helps to name us for who we are, but one that serves to remind us of who we are called to be.

GREEN TRIFOLD   reminds us of our growth in Christ Jesus, the enfolding embrace of the God who is Three in One, the movement of the Spirit in our lives and the ministries we share as we live and work together in this Triad area.

THE WORLD
reminds us that, like Wesley, we are called to serve the world as our parish. We are called to strive for world class excellence in our serving, in our leading, in our proclamation of the gospel. We are called to be stewards of the earth and all who dwell therein. We are part of the Church of Jesus Christ in the world.

THE BLESSING CUP   reminds us of the rich tradition, history and culture around pottery making in our district, but even greater is the reminder that God is the potter and we are the clay. We hold this treasure of Christ's life within us in jars of clay-earthen vessels. We remember that it is one cup of blessing that we bless. We share the common cup of suffering, weeping with those who weep, the mutual cup of joy, laughing with those who laugh. We are blessed with the cup of salvation-God's gift of love and compassion in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Grace, leadership and service-to these we are called. With these gifts we have been blessed. In the Spirit's power we will grow and share this call and these gifts that Christ may be glorified in all things.

Growing in grace with you,

Lynne B. Caldwell
District Superintendent
