Fall Festival is upon us

What a wonderful time of year!

Last Saturday was officially the 1st day of fall. What a wonderful time of year, and it happens to be my favorite time of year! How else can you beat the oppressive heat of summer than to usher in much-welcomed brisk autumn breezes?

While some would argue that it only brings on cold winds that are almost as dreaded as the oppressive heat, others, like myself, would say “Bring on the cozy sweaters, falling leaves and hot chocolate!”

To me, fall is a refreshing time of year. It is when God, in a sense, “cleans up” and gets the earth ready for new growth again.

What is more refreshing than cleaning up? It brings new life to a once cluttered room or even ourselves after a nice bath.

This year, I would like to see the entire church involved in our major fall event, our Fall Festival. No matter what your age, fun can be had during this wonderful season.

I will be forming a committee on Wed. 10-4-06 in the Fellowship Hall after Dinner with a Message and I invite the entire church to be on it.

Your task may only be to observe the festivities and keep things running smoothly or you may be asked to keep an eye on the food table.

Nothing hard, just being a part of a fun time for the entire church. I hope everyone will join in and get involved. After all, this is your festival as well as the children’s.

And, just as the whole earth is transformed by fall, let us all “be transformed by the renewing of our minds.”

Join us, won’t you?

God bless you,
