How We Serve

Education
The Preschool for two to four year olds enhances early childhood development in a Christian environment. Young children are prepared effectively for public school by caring staff and volunteers. The joy of learning and participating in group activities is experienced using suitable methods. In addition to age-appropriate class work, activities include free and structured play, Bible stories, circle time for prayer and sharing, music, and nutritious snacks, and field trips. Teachers tell us that the Henry Fork preschoolers are well prepared for school.

Enrichment
The Afterschool program offers enriching activities for children and youth age four through sixteen. After a nutritious snack, children do their homework, work with computers, make crafts, play indoor or outdoor games and participate in the devotional groups. Some children are tutored and a few have mentors. Some children choose to be part of the Choir, Mime and Bell groups. Each music activity practices weekly and the groups perform often.

Summer Program
The Center has an eight week program for all children 2-16. Children have Bible study, swimming, field trips and other planned activities. In addition, work teams come to work with the children or improve the facility.

Family Involvement
The Center seeks to strengthen family life through positive role modeling and family activities. Clothes closets and short-term, classes for adults (parenting, GED, craft and Bible study) give parents need skills and support.

Many families are very supportive of Henry Fork. Some parents volunteer to assist with children's activities, adult classes and help with yard work. We provide nurturing and understanding to families. Referrals are made to community, health and counseling agencies.
