The Lighthouse Center for Children
The Lighthouse Center for Children is a child care center that provides income-based child care in an economically depressed area of Page and Rockingham counties. It is a ministry of, and is housed at, Furnace United Methodist Church in Elkton. The center serves children ages 2-12 and is open year round. The center could use day-time volunteers on a regular or one-time basis as well as help with mowing, upkeep on the playground and equipment, and cleaning of the center and areas of the church used by the center. Help could also be used in cleaning and organizing supplies and supply closets.
