              Philosophy

We recognize that child hood is the most critical period in human growth and development. The years your child spends in pre-school lay the foundation for learning. Our goal is to provide learning experiences for your child that will be diverse, creative, age appropriate, and carefully planned. We encourage development by providing an atmosphere that enables children to explore through curriculum, creativity and socialization.

We believe that children need the opportunity to explore, question, practice and pretend in order to discover the world around them. Play is an important part of the learning process. We encourage this by providing a variety of activities that are challenging and interesting.

We recognize the fact that no two children develop in the same way. Our teachers understand your child's need for individual development and will provide challenging and positive experiences.

GOALS

The goals of our program are:

To help your child grow in independence

To learn to give and share

To learn to get along with peers

To develop self-control and discipline

To practice and learn large and small motor skills

To begin understanding cause and effect, and to able to reason

To develop a positive feeling about their relationship to the world around them

Ages 6 weeks to 2 years, Pre-School is ages 3 to 5 years

     The staff of Haygood United Methodist Church Pre-School is pleased to have the opportunity to teach and care for  your child. We have a genuine love for children, and want the best for them.

             Hours of preschool - Early drop off-7:30 A.M.

     Classes: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

                        Lunch Bunch: 12 - 1 p.m.

Extended Care: 1 - 6 p.m.
